À la découverte de Sandbanks

Discovering Sandbanks

A lovely getaway, hours from Montreal.

This summer, after traveling to Europe, especially in Portugal, I decided to spend a few days in a part of Canada that I hold dear: Sandbanks and Prince Edward County.

It was in 2020, during the pandemic, that I first discovered this little place of nature. I was charmed by its wild side, stunning beaches, and the adorable small towns, all just a five-hour drive from Montreal!
So, when friends from France visited and decided to visit Sandbanks, I jumped at the chance to return this summer. Although the beaches were more crowded and had lost a bit of their wild appeal, I still loved rediscovering this place that I had fallen in love with.

This experience even inspired an illustration in my new collection (coming TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3 AT NOON!), which I’m excited to share with you today.

And here’s my list of recommendations for a successful getaway to Sandbanks and Prince Edward County! You can find them in the highlights of my Instagram stories.

Sandbanks Provincial Park: With its beaches, dunes, and clear waters, it’s perfect for chilling during the day or catching the sunset!

The Vic: A bar/restaurant in Picton offering delicious brunches, burgers, or cocktails, depending on the time of day!

Angeline’s Inn: A charming inn in Bloomfield with retro cabins for a relaxing stay near Sandbanks.

Beacon Bike + Brew: For a great coffee and pastry before exploring Picton on foot.

The Lakeside Motel: A major favorite for its impeccable aesthetic, with a restaurant terrace offering breathtaking views of Lake Ontario. Stunning photos are guaranteed, along with a delicious meal!

The Bean Counter: Another fantastic coffee spot in Picton.

La Condesa: A wonderful Mexican restaurant in Wellington, an absolute must-try.

Parsons Brewing: My second major favorite, this brewery is set in a field, offering a perfect spot to enjoy beers with an incredible view of the County’s landscapes.

The Love Loft: A local artisan boutique in Bloomfield where you can find little treasures (like my latest pair of earrings).

But most importantly, take a stroll through the streets of Picton, Wellington, and Bloomfield, and soak in the charm of these peaceful towns, close to nature, with adorable shops and houses!
