Nos illustrations du vendredi sur Instagram

Our #Fridayillustrations on Instagram

A wind of freedom on my creativity!

If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve probably noticed a small wind of change on our feed, every Friday.

I felt a deep need of freedom, exploring new ideas, new technics; in a word, I needed to challenge my creativity!

Liligraffiti has been part of my life for 11 years now (including 7 years dedicated to stationery), part of me as an artist, and I allowed myself and my style to dive into this brand 100%. I profoundly love to create collections for my brand, twice a year…The fact that I know that you, my faithful customers, will be there every season is a reward and a huge motivation.

That being said, at times, it feels kind of limiting, in my creative mind, to go back to my Liligraffiti “frame”, with its colors, vibes, and its unique style…which, obviously, I love more than anything.

For the past two years, thanks to the global pandemic and my major personal change of decade, I felt the urge to reconnect with another part of myself : I changed the way I organized myself, my work habits, my whole year around my two annual collections.

I purchased new material that allows me to explore different ways to draw (new technics, but also new places, as this material can be moved around way easier).

It felt like the push I needed to let my creativity take new directions. My imagination went wild, and my drawing went psychedelic!

All of a sudden, everything in my sketches became possible : I represent myself in fields where giant flowers grow, I am rolling around with rollerblades and a Walkman, in a semi-fantasied version of my 80’s teenage self, I bathe in an oversized cup of coffee…Let say I have a LOT of fun!!

Like I said at the beginning of this post, this feels like a wind of change on my creativity, like a colorful break from my Montreal-Liligraffiti weeks!

Here are a few of the Friday illustrations of the past weeks :
